Since domestic competition is very high, overseas study to enhance personal competitiveness is one of the methods. However, going overseas but not immersing to the culture will not help. You should always try to participate in university community and expand your extracurricular knowledge and network.
The universities that are most actively integrating international students into the campus are the University of New South Wales (Sydney) and Monnal University (Melbourne). This is because the universities organise heaps of interactive engagment activities, such as bilingual competitions that you can gain provincial government accreditation, week-end barbecues to chill, and have a consolidated international relationships with international companies, such as CPA and Atlassian. 
Foundation studies accept students completed year 11 high school so you can start to consider now.
Australia's Group of 8 has a corresponding foundation studies that channel students for first year undergraduate enrolment, which I would also highly recommend as oppose to TAFE colleges, as foundation studies leavers will always considered before all other pathway courses applicants.

High school students with good grades and are able to achieve a second highest grade (credit to distinction range).

IELTs 5.5 or above , finish the second last year of high school (minimum requirement)

Trinity College, The University of Melbourne

  • Suitable for students with Good English Ability
  • Liberal arts students, should consider 
  • Courses are more flexible, students are required to take 2 courses, 3 subjects (courses are as follows)
  • University Specialty: business, education, law, linguistics 
  • IELTS requirements: 5.5-6 points

  • Part of the first year of university subjects is similar to the teaching content of Foundation year
  • University teaching model is basically the same as foundation year as well
