Faculty of Business and Economics

As a Commerce student you will get comprehensive business training and have the chance to explore complementary disciplines. There are seven Commerce majors available, and many elective subjects to choose from. You can also study Engineering, Property or Construction as part of your degree.

  • Units 3 & 4: A study score of at least 25 in English/English Language/Literature or at least 30 in EAL, and at least 25 in Mathematical Methods (CAS) or Specialist Mathematics.

    Applicants intending to major in Actuarial Studies or undertake a breadth in Engineering foundation subjects leading to a 3-year Master of Engineering are strongly encouraged to complete VCE Specialist Mathematics or equivalent. Applicants intending to undertake a Masters in Engineering specialising in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to undertake VCE Physics or equivalent. If this has not been completed, applicants may be required to undertake additional physics subjects. Prospective 3-year Master of Engineering students may be required to undertake subjects via CAP in order to meet the prerequisites.

  • IELTS 6.5+ Each Band 6+; TOEFL PBT 577 including a score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English. IBT 79 with scores of writing: 21 speaking: 18 reading: 13 listening 13; Pearson Test of English (Academic) all overall score between 58-64 inclusive and achieve no PTE communicative skills score below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): A Cambridge English Score of 176 with no skill below 169. 

  • If you would like to study in Australia at a university or tertiary level then you may be eligible for the Higher Education Sector Visa (subclass 573) or Postgraduate Research Sector Visa (subclass 574). If your intention is to study a non-award foundation studies course or components of a course (other than English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) that does not lead to an award then the Non Award Sector visa (subclass 575) may suit your needs. For those who intend to come to Australia to undertake English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) the Independent ELICOS Sector visa (subclass 57) provides this option. In some cases it is possible to package your studies on the one visa subclass. For more information please see Course packaging.
